SherCo Games announces that Amazing Space Venture™ is now available to game and hobby stores served by national and international distributors partnered with Impressions Advertising and Marketing. It also can be ordered online directly from the company’s web site.
The clever tile and card-playing game of intergalactic space exploration is for 2 – 4 players, ages 12 and up. Using retro-60’s art with a Euro-game look and feel, Amazing Space Venture™blends three familiar mechanics into one elegant game system involving strategic tile placement, point-to-point movement, and card play.
“This game really lives up to its name,” says Dr. Steve LeShay, the game’s designer and owner of SherCo Games. “It’s exciting, humorous, creative, has lots of strategy, loads of replay value, and above all is fun to play. It truly is amazing.” Thick 1-3/4” square “deep space” tiles are placed each turn onto a large 23-1/2” x 33” game board divided into 169 quadrants with a scoring track to create an ever-changing and expanding universe with galaxies, space paths, planets, and a sun. Players then move die-cut space ships and UFOs mounted on plastic stands through this universe to discover new planets, place space pirates, and position space stations and space probes for maximum scoring. Beautifully illustrated 2-1/2” x 3-1/2” round-corner playing cards are played to identify mysterious planets, and experience weird, dangerous and wonderful environments such as bioetheric bubbles, acid rain, or abundant land and water. Cards also allow players to meet strange alien life forms (e.g., societies of robots, pest colonies, mutant insects, lost civilizations), and to encounter other daring space explorers including an evil warlord, a robot queen, and a bumbling rookie astronaut. “You also can build and command space ships, and create special events such as black holes, supernovas, time warps, and terra forms with the cards,” LeShay said. “Everyone remains in the game until the final scoring trying to become Lord of the Universe.” Advanced strategy rules -- along with basic rules, role play, team play, solitaire, and a ninth planet variant -- are included. SherCo Games is based in Middletown, Delaware. Media contact: Steve LeShay info@shercogames.com |
